The harder you carry your business, the slower it grows.
You've out-worked every problem until now.
This is the one that won't bend — because the bottleneck isn't your strategy.
It's that the whole thing still runs through you.
Introducing The CCO Journey. 12 weeks. 1:1. For founder and leaders growing their companies.
You know the moment. The numbers look good. The team's busy. And you're more tired than any of it can explain.
Step out of the room, and it dips.
You push harder. Hire faster. Add structure.
The barrier doesn't move.
It feels like a choice you can't win.
Drive results — or protect the people. Scale fast — or keep what made this special. Push harder — or finally breathe.
Pick a side. The other one pays for it.
You didn't hit a ceiling.
You unconsciously became one.
Here's the shift to consider: from carrying to catalysing.
Carrying is you, pushing the whole thing forward.
Catalysing is activating an energy between people that moves things on its own.
Same fire. One burns you out. The other lights up the room — and keeps going after you've left it.
Every company has a CFO. Almost none have a CCO.
Someone's watching the money. Someone's watching the operations.
Nobody watching the chemistry that decides whether the team functions or truly thrives.
What's more: it's exactly that chemistry that allows leaders to grow beyond the barriers that they usually come to me with.
The role required? That's the Chief Chemistry Officer.
You don't hire for it. You grow into it.
A CCO plays three games:
We score all three. Then build around the one capping your growth right now.
The CCO Journey - the arc of 12 weeks.
Seven sessions, ~8.5 hours of focused 1:1 work. The framework is the same for every leader. The path itself is built around you.
1
The Assessment
A 20–30 minute questionnaire — leadership patterns, purpose, values, your superpowers, plus the CCO self-assessment.
This isn't a warm-up. It's the engine of the whole 12-week journey. Your answers become your 90-day development plan and decide everything that follows — which growth edge we start with, which dimension we go deep on, what your path actually looks like.
No two journeys run the same.
2
The Mirror
1 Session | 90 minutes
I reflect back what the assessment revealed — not a data dump, a portrait. We explore the results together, deepen what needs attention and why now, and design what to expect from the work ahead.
Then I present your 90-day development plan — built from your answers, refined with you in the room. You leave understanding yourself, where you stand, and exactly how to move.
3
The Development Path
6 Sessions | 60 minutes each
Where the work happens. Sequenced from your profile.
Inner game (2-3 sessions) — helpful and limiting patterns, your inner compass, the genius that's uniquely yours.
Relational game (2-3 sessions) — the polarity you're here to resolve, and one high-chemistry team dimension explored fully.
Culture game (1 session) — the infrastructure that lets chemistry scale, plus forward: what's shifted, what's next.

You've read this far. This tells me something.
The barrier you've hit won't move with more effort. You've already proven you can carry it all — and carrying it all is the very thing slowing you down.
What you need now isn't more push. It's a mirror, a map, and a path that's actually yours.
That's where the CCO Journey starts.
About
I'm Marc Engel, founder of The Third Space.
I work at the intersection most leaders treat as a contradiction — high performance and deep human connection — because in my experience they're not opposites. They're multipliers. But only when you stop holding it all yourself and learn to light the charge between people instead.
I've sat with founders who built something remarkable and were quietly terrified of breaking it. I've worked with leaders whose metrics were all green and whose best people were one honest conversation from walking. I'm based between Bangkok and Switzerland, I work in English and German.
